Iranian painter Salman Khoshroo, moulds human portraits that are devoid of expression. Blank faces are carved in thick layers of paint, creating an unsettling and realistic effect as if Khoshroo’s subjects were about the leave the canvas.
Growing up in New York and educated in Australia, artist now operates from his native Iran. His artworks, painted with just one pigment, seem to reflect the diversity of human experiences and emotions – all evoked by skillful brushstrokes.
