Altering the Register

Isaac West is a Liberian, US-based photographer and creative director who specialises in conceptual art and minimalism.

West’s portraits are luminous, evoking a kind of contemporary regality and altering the register. Deep reds, cobalt blues and velvet greens are paired with painted lines on playing fields, balloons and Campbell soup cans.

Combining fashion and fine art references, West’s lens is close and intimate, with details of arms, legs and shoulders sharp and clean-cut.
